We know we need a website for our business, but are we expecting less from it than we should?
Back in the day people used to call websites a “brochure.” While some people still just see it as a must have “expensive flyer on the internet”, it can and should be so much more than that.
I like to see a website as your storefront or welcoming office. A place where people walk in (land on) and know they are in the right place, it’s a good feeling, they get you AND they can ask for help, book a time or buy from you right there and then.
Let me ask you a question - is that the experience you’re having with YOUR website? If not, this episode is for you.
A good website can help you generate thousands and thousands of dollars in revenue - and it doesn’t need to be a super expensive website to make that happen
Today I talk to Iona Elwood-Smith, the founder and owner of Grow My Business, a website company in Wellington, New Zealand with a speciality in helping service-based business owners get a website that helps make them money.
Iona and I both share a love of having converting content on websites, but we also both know that you need to have some other things in place working on your website for it to become that trust building, lead generating powerhouse of a salesperson for your business
If you’d like your website to do more of the heavy lifting, then this episode is for you.

I’m Iona, website strategist, owner of Grow My Business, mother of 3, lover of chocolate and international athlete.
My background is in business strategy and operations and my superpower is the strategic view I bring to the web design process.
I found early on in my journey with SME’s that websites, and more importantly the key messages and targeting of websites, was critical to business growth. If you can get it right for a website that compels complete strangers to take action and contact you, you are immediately on your way to business success.
This shifted my personal journey to creating websites that actually made this happen. My business background means my website approach is strategic and focused on business growth as well as design, which sets me apart from most web designers.
